Wednesday, March 01, 2006 A Levels Phew, juz woke up. Too shack out to blog last night. My day was spent in the CBD again sorting some stuff. I went into a HDB multi-storey carpark last night with my Sunny. Seriously speaking, a manual car is very troublesome to have it driven in the small n cramp multi-storey carpark. Heck.. I even almost ramp into the wall while turning n going down the narrow slope. I misjudged the tight turning. Lucky I braked in time to save my precious car. Subsequent turns into down slopes became very slow, for I don't want to risk it. My dear nephew Elton's PC got screwed n needed my help. Hai.. Sometimes I do pity him a little. When I was his age(12), mum bought me a brand new PC which cost a whopping S$3000. He isn't as lucky. His mum took the unwanted PC from his uncle instead of getting him a new one. The PC is running on the pathetic 433 MHz Intel Celeron processor, a meager 128MB RAM n an almost useless onboard graphics card. Looking at him, I think I'm really a very lucky boy. At times, I feel like juz building him a new budget PC, which at anytime, is hell lot better than the one he's using now. It's not that his parents refuse to get him a new one. They're facing such financial difficulty that they owe the government house loans n electricity & water bills. I watch Elton grow up from a small little baby, n it's sad to see him like that. I managed to get his PC up n running, but at a much slower speed due to the Windows XP operating system. With the PC's specification, it's a miracle that it can run on the heavy XP. Imagine a normal 4-door saloon car carrying 10 passengers, double that of the normal 5(driver included). Halfway through the fixing, Kim messaged me on the phone. My heart skipped a beat when I saw her name on my phone out of a sudden. The SMS caused me stare at the screen in a daze for close to a minute. It was the 28th ystd, the date we held hands for the first time almost 3yrs ago. It was the 28th of May 2003, I will never forget that day, that night I held onto her soft hands. Hai.. It's obvious that both of us still can't let go even after 10months apart. But so many things had happened since, it's not the same anymore. Today is the release of the "A" Levels result. My sis will be receiving hers later in the noon when she goes back to TPJC. I do worry a little for her, but I know she'll have no problem getting into a local university. The amount of hard work she put in during the 2 college years easily surpasses the amount I put in during my 2yrs in TPJC. She's a clever girl, even more intelligent than me. Alright gotta go. Meeting up with friends later in the noon. It's gonna be a busy day again. |
