Singapore GP 2009

So, it ended last night full of incidents. Safety car, drive thru penalties, crashes and multiple brake failures. I hate to say this, but Hamilton deserves his win with his solid drive for the whole of 61 laps. Vettel for some part of the race did threaten his position, but a stupid speeding infraction in the pit lane ended his chance of finishing on the podium. He finished 4th eventually.

But Hamilton's win did nothing to the championship race, since he already lost the chance of defending his title this season. With him on the podium were Timo Glock n Fernando Alonso. It's refreshing to see new faces though, cos Glock n Alonso nv finished on the podium this season. It's good to see dat Renault is able to put behind their Crashgate saga n produced a good result. With Vettel at 4th n Button n Barrichello 5th n 6th respectively, Button managed to stretch his lead by a further 1point, quite remarkable considering he started 12th on the grid.

Next race will be this weekend at the refurbished Suzuka. It's great to see it go back to a proper race track again. Street circuits like SG makes me fall asleep during races. SG has 23 turns, dat's like the most number of turns of all tracks. When the camera was switched to the cockpit view during the race, i owas take my hat off to the drivers to be able to focus for 300km, 61 laps of never ending turns. Last night, the race lasted for 2 full hours. It muz haf been damn tiring for the drivers.

I was bored on Saturday night, n with the last practise session at 7pm, i headed down to Fort road hoping dat I can sneak a view of the F1 cars from the Sheares Bridge. But heck, they stationed security guards at the stairs of the bridge to prevent ppl from going up. They really go to extreme measures to prevent ppl from watching it for free. I dun see this happening in Monaco n Valencia. Singapore is plain fucking KIASU.

Nvm, so i headed to the bank of the Kallang Basin, some 300metres away from the paddocks to enjoy the roar of the engines. Well, good enuff, n i took some pics of the area in the red sunset.
