Almost overslept this morning, lucky dad woke me up in time so that I won’t be late. Too tired to wake up I guess, didn’t even hear my alarm. Right after booking in, I had to run 5km for battalion PT. I took my time to complete the run cos I was still half asleep n hungry. I’ve been running n swimming for the past 5 days w/o rest, plus the late nights due to the Champions’ League games, tired… Next Monday will be an off day again. That’s great; I can now watch the Liverpool vs Chelsea match on Sunday night.

Tmr is 1st October. I’m another month closer to my ORD date; I’m still counting down the days. N of cos, it’s Children’s Day! Haha.. I’m too old liao la. Can I go back to an innocent 7yr old boy? I really wish so. Life is so much simpler as a kid. However, the most impt thing that’s gonna happen tmr is the new No Smoking Rule. With effect from tmr onwards, smoking will be prohibited in bus-stops, bus-interchange, public toilets, community centres n public swimming pools, law breakers will be fined between $250-$1000. In addition, from 1st of July 2006, the rule will be further stretch to areas such as coffee shops, hawker centres n pubs n clubs. Haha… I can’t imagine Zouk n China Black being smoke free. It’s a good move by the government to protect the well being of non-smokers. I know how irritating the smelly cigarette smoke can be. My dad is a smoker, n these tobacco sticks almost killed him. He had a heart attack 6 years ago at an age of 46. If he hadn’t smoked, maybe he’s still a healthy person now. He had already undergone two heart angioplasty operations, with the latest only 6 months ago. Cigarette almost took his life away, n he couldn’t work for half a year after his first op. Me, being his son, became the passive smoker for 14 years, until the attack. I’m grateful I didn’t lose him then, but I’m still annoyed that he still smokes now, albeit a lot lesser. Please, quit smoking if u smoke. If Taufik Batisah can do it, so can u.

Talking about cigarette smoke, a news report ystd showed that the ice bergs at the Arctic Sea have melted 30% since the 1970s. The satellite picture they showed showed a very significant decrease in size of the ice glaziers. If the melting rate continues, the ice glaziers will disappear in the next 100years. Why? Greenhouse gases have contributed to global warming, which in turn melted the ice. Ever wonder why there are so many hurricanes this year? The melting ice cap is the reason. The sea level will continue to rise, n the weather will get hotter, unless something is being done. Mankind has done too much damage to the environment for the past century n is now paying the price. If we ignore the warning, our next generation will suffer. Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases. Exhaust from cars n factories are the main culprit. If u’ve watched the movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, u’ll know what will happen to mankind eventually.

The news is out. ALL four strains of the Ades virus can cause haemorrhagic fever. Previously it was thought that only the victims who are down with a 2nd bout of dengue fever will suffer from it. Mind u, the haemorrhagic fever is very deadly. Your organs will all go into shock after being starved of oxygen, n internal bleeding sets in due to the extremely low level of platelets in the blood. For those 12 people who have died from dengue, it certainly wasn’t a nice n easy death. Moving on the Indonesia, the H5N1 bird flu virus killed another 2 children today. What the hell? Virus all around. Argh..

I’m red. Went swimming n tanning again. I look like a red barbequed lobster now. Haha.. It’s ok, I like the reddish bronze colour. Sian man.. I have to book in tmr morning. Got some decoration work to do in camp cos the CDF(Chief Defence Force) is visiting my camp. Surprising~! Singapore’s oldest camp he also wants to visit, I dun understand. Guess I’ll have lots of area cleaning to do. N ya, I hate to clean the much dreaded dirty drain. Hai… I hate going back there, somebody save me…

    Anderlecht 0-1 Real Betis
Second loss for the Belgium champions in as many games. It looks as though their chances are as good as gone. Maybe a more experienced squad next season will be stronger.

    Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Tense affair at Anfield with Liverpool dominating the play. It's the first game this season Chelsea didn't get full points.

    Real Madrid 2-1 Olympiakos
Raul set a new scoring record in the Champions' League by netting his 50th Champions' League goal, helping Real Madrid to their 1st win in the Champions' League this season after a horrendous 3-0 defeat by Lyon a fortnight ago.

    FC Porto 2-3 Artmedia Petrzalka
The European Champion of 2004 threw it away after leading 2-0. Full marks for effort for Artmedia. They never gave up n snatched all 3 points in Portugal. Marvellous.

    Rosenborg 0-1 Lyon
A goal by Marques Gomes at the stroke of half time settle the score. It doesn't matter how they win, they top the group now with a maximum of 6 points. French champion, a force not to be taken lightly this season.

    Fenerbahce 3-0 PSV Eindhoven
Alex scored a brace for Fenerbahce n the man with the longest name in european football, Vennegoor of Hesselink, got sent off just before half time. Semi-finalist last season, PSV have looked fragile after losing numerous players to club transfers.

    Schalke 04 2-2 AC Milan
Just when everyone thought AC Milan would slaughter the German team, Schalke dug deep to carve out a draw. German teams are no pushovers after all.

    Inter Milan 1-0 Rangers
Playing in front of an empty San Siro due to last season's crowd trouble, Pizarro scored just after the break to win it for Inter. Rangers wasn't good enough.

Yawnz.. I'm exhausted, haven't slept all night. Hey, maybe i can go get some prata for breakfast now huh...

Damn, another person died today due to dengue fever, making the total number of deaths this year to 12. When will this ‘epidemic’ come to an end? Even Malaysia is being affected now, with JB n KL as the most seriously hit areas. I’ll hate to see another SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) situation. Life almost came to a halt during the SARS period in 2003. It’s weird isn’t it? Singapore has the best precautionary measures against dengue mosquitoes in the world, n yet we’re the worst hit. The climate is just so suitable for these pest to breed n create havoc, claiming lives along the way. I wonder how many more victims they gonna claim this year before they die down. No one knew how dengue came about in Singapore. In fact, the 1st case was only reported just after WWII ended here. Screw these little flying insects. How did all of u manage to survive when we’ve done so much damage to your natural breeding grounds? I’m still puzzled.

Alright, I’m really tired. Didn’t sleep well last night even after downing that bottle of vodka. Guess I’ll need more than a bottle the next time. Liverpool Vs Chelsea at 2.45am later. It’s a match can’t be missed. ^-Cya-^

Tampines Rovers team is training. Saw Alam Shah, Grabovac, Rafi Ali n Muratovic, juz to name a few. They will be playing against Paya Lebar Punggol this saturday. A sure win match. Paya Lebar Punggol is a hopeless team with only 4 meagre points to show for in the table for the whole season. Posted by Picasa
