    Smelly Green Things

    Tue, Jul 21, 2009

Mum wants to ban NS men from taking buses

A Netizen who claimed to be a mother of two girls made a post in an online forum recently, demanding that NS men be banned from taking public buses because they are dirty and smelly.

The post drew furore from other forum members, who have called the poster insensitive and disrespectful towards NS men.

The Netizen, who goes by the username JusticeLegal, described an unpleasant bus ride on 10 July which prompted her to propose the ban.

JusticeLegal said that she was bringing her children home from Downtown East when a group of "army boys" boarded the bus with them. The NS men were sweaty and smelled, and soon the Netizen's daughters were "making sick faces" at her.

The Netizen proposed that SAF ban soldiers from taking the bus, reasoning that the pay NS men get should be enough to pay for taxi rides.

She also said that the soldiers, having just returned to Singapore from Tekkong, might have contacted "germs and viruses" and might spread the diseases to others.

Calling the NS men "smelly green things", JusciceLegal said in her post that her two daughters should be spared the eyesore.

If she had a grandson in the future, the Netizen said that she would teach him to be a responsible citizen and take a cab, or wait for her to fetch him.

The forum thread, which has since attracted some 900 replies, was started on 17 July. A large majority of replies expressed anger at JusticeLegal's comments with many saying that the Netizen should at least recognize the contributions of NS men.

Sometimes, I wonder why do I even serve NS to protect idiots like this. Take cab? Is she assuming NSF's pay are incredibly high? If she had a grandson that serves the NS, she's gonna go fetch him with her car? Then why the fuck u take the bus? You think NSFs wanna be dirty n stinky? Does she even noe wad goes on in Tekong juz b4 book out? U can wear nice n clean uniform when u book out, but it's not owas so gd that they let u book out so cleanly.

Does she even haf a husband to relate life of a NSF? Or did she get fucked by some strangers n bore 2 daughters? Oh, maybe the husband is some wussy who doesn't need to serve NS?

If i noe who she is n if there's a war in Singapore, the first bullet that comes out of my M16 rifle will be aimed at her head for sure. Her daughters? Too bad, ur mummy didn't noe how to appreciate people who trains day n night to protect her.

    24 inches

Been busy with work, the assignments seem to get tougher with every week. But time really flies, tomorrow will be the presentation of the 5th assignment n there are a total of 6 assignments. Next week will be the last week of school b4 the final portfolio submission the following week.

Then, it will be my yearly In-Camp-Training in the army camp. After that, it will be one week of recreation b4 school reopens for my final yr in NUS. It's gonna be a damn hectic final yr for me.

This was during one of presentation class last week

I went to Jurong West after class, the 1st time I've been to Pioneer MRT Station since it opened in February. New stations look so much classier n the architecture is much much more lively as compared to stations that were constructed in the late 80s

When I was heading home, I hopped onto the train, then when it started moving, an announcement was made - "Next station, Boon Lay". I was like WTF?? I tot i saw it clearly that i boarded the East bound train?!! For that split second i tot I really took the wrong side of the platform. But then, I realised, oh ya, Boon Lay is no longer the last station on the EW line, I can be heading towards the East eventhough the next station is Boon Lay, on contrary to the past.

This was wad i got from Jurong West

    Samsung 2433BW, 24" LCD monitor

It will replace my Samsung 226BW(left). It took quite some time to get used to 24", eventhough it was juz a minor upgrade of 2" from the 226BW. But watching films on it is awesome to say the least on the full HD panel, especially so for HD content.

No, this wasn't my work. If it was me, I wud haf used pink petals for the heart instead, this is a little monotone. Saw this in the park while on my way out. I wonder how many roses the guy bought to do this. Full marks for effort, he was lucky it wasn't a windy morning.

One of those nights with a nice orange half moon. I stood at my kitchen window, with a cup of ribena in my hand n enjoy the peace while my brain was cracking with ideas for the next assignment.

And this was the result of the brain cracking. We had to make an A3 size poster regarding the iN2015 plan. This is my work, but more has to be done b4 i submit it in my final portfolio..Posted by Picasa

    Stress Reliever

Ever since Smallville n Ghost Whisperer ended their respective seasons in early May, I haven't had much to do in the weekends other than school work. This was made worse when the English Premier League ended the season too!! Imagine my boredom with nothing to watch on my computer screen.

Thankfully in mid June, Top Gear of BBC2 is back!! Juz when I needed that extra amplification to my mood lately, when I haf nothing much to do. Do assignments, sleep, go jogging, go cycling & eat.

So now I look forward to the weekends when I can catch some petrol filled action!

This is the 1st of their advertisements on Top Gear's new season

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXoReRbsHn8

This, the 2nd advertisement... These guys are hilarious

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=653YzsMXojE

Then on the 2nd episode, they had this challenge for the 3 of them. They're to imagine they're 17 yr olds who juz passed their driving tests n are getting their 1st ever car. They were each given 2500pounds to get the best car they would get as a 17yr old. After so, use the remaining amount to improve their car a 17yr old would.

Jeremy Clarkson was left with nothing after getting his Volvo, so he didn't haf much to do. Rchard Hammond installed some body kit onto his Hyundai. N the genius James May did the best with a new stereo on his VW Golf!! See what they did to James May

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9soj3WqrX_g

These guys really make me laugh my ass off, making me 4get all the stress I'm having.. In the subsequent challenges, the raving bassy music was such a comedic part that I finished the episode with a painful abdomen after laughing too much

For their coming seasons, Smallville n Ghost Whisperer will both be broadcasted on Friday night, starting on the same Friday too.. Haha.. I hope I wun be too busy to watch them..
