August 9 2007 was Singapore's 42nd birthday and it was celebrated for the first time on a newly built floating platform at the Marina Basin. About a decade ago, Singapore started having a National Day Song each year sung by different local singers. I remembered I was singing one that was sung by Jimmy Yeh when I was in primary school. Then there's Kit Chan's very nice "Home". Followed on are Mavis Hee, Stephanie Sun, JJ Lin, Tanya Chua, Taufik & Rui-En and last year's Kaira Gong.
This is the most famous NDP song "Home" by Kit Chan exactly 10yrs ago
This year's "There's No Place I'd Rather Be" by Kit Chan
This is the funny Chinese Version sung by Zhou Chong Qing & Xiao Jia Hui of 93.3fm station.
But I like this one by Tanya Chua. The lyrics are so much more meaningful
