Liverpool in SG

The whole Liverpool team, well except Steven Gerrard, came to Singapore 2 weeks ago. The last time they came was in 2001 if i'm not wrong.. That was during the Michael Owen/Hyypia era led by Gerard Houllier. This time round, the ones left in the team after the last visit is only Jamie Carragher, since Gerrard didn't come due to his court trial in England.

I didn't manage to catch them n flesh, all thanks to my school work. Need to rush out the portfolio due to the impending ICT. So that weekend, i practically stayed home all day. Kinda sad though, cos i noe they next time they come, I would probably be working n haf no time again.

But it's fine, cos my ultimate dream is to go Anfield n watch the REAL Liverpool match n not a lobsided match against Singapore national team with only a few 1st team regulars being fielded. S$88 for the ticket at National Stadium, not worth it IMO, but my sis went. 5-0 was the final scoreline, n the match created such a big hoohaa over the absence of the Singapore National Anthem b4 the start of the match

Kinda silly i would say. C'mon, who the fuck will spend S$88 to support Singapore team? They all spend the money to watch Liverpool play, to see Torres n company run circles around players like Precious/Sharil Ishak/Mustafic Fahrudin etc etc. It is only normal we, Singaporeans who paid the expensive tickets, support Liverpool rather than the national team.

N the national team players need not feel sad, cos they're obviously not the party focus. They shd juz treat it as a match which they can mingle with top European players rather than a match which national pride is at stake. C'mon, WHY SO SERIOUS?!! Wanna be serious? I bet the scoreline will be worse than 5-0.

N i'm glad that the National Athem wasn't played, cos if it did, i think it'll be a laughing stock. Cos i can foresee the whole 50,000 crowd will sing You'll Never Walk Alone MUCH MUCH MUCH louder than Majulah Singapura. Worse, some might even forget the lyrics of Majulah Singapura but noe YNWA by heart.

C'mon man, there will be days when we'll spill our guts supporting the Lions, but clearly, that night wasn't the day. Some people simply failed to see that, including Noh Alam Shah, who claimed he felt ashamed being a Singapore player? Hey fren, i will support u when u play world cup qualifier against other top Asian teams, when the ticket is not $88 at the entry gate of the National Stadium.

But it's sad, cos that's the last time i'll see Alonso in a Liverpool shirt.. Real Madrid bought him over for 30m pounds, n we say bye bye to him after an excellent 5yr service. HAHA, anybody knows the VJC girl?? I wanna buy her Liverpool jersey with Alonso's name for $20, cos I think she'll never wear it again.

On the serious note, i felt really gutted for Pool to lose such a great player which is damn hard to replace. His passing accuracy is phenomenal, his workrate is good, n he's such a classy player. He's on my side bar if u haven't notice, n now i haf to take his pictures down. It hurts me, it felt like losing ur girlfriend to a richer, more handsome man, but not exactly a better man in terms of boyfriend material.
