Saturday, October 07, 2006 Mid Autumn Festival Hmm, time flies and another Mid Autumn Festival is over. This day sure gave me lots of past memories. It's the day when little kids play with fire openly without being scolded by their parents, burning anything from dried leaves, twigs to even their own lanterns. Haha, I was of no exception when I was still a kid. However, there were two incidents that made this day memorable to me. When i was 12, I was in the park playing with lanterns. Then out of curiosity, I overturned the lantern n looked at the candle inside it. Haha, how stupid I was. The hot melted wax dripped onto my face n burnt my skin. WTF, it left a huge round shaped burnt wound beside my nose. Not surprisingly, I got blasted by mum n the wound took a month to recover. Thank god it didn't leave any scar. Fast forward to 17yrs old. It was a boring day at home as usual n I had nothing to eat at home. So i sat in front of the PC n had one full mooncake in front of me. Bit by bit, i finished up the whole moon cake within 30minutes while playing my game. The next thing I know, I was feeling unwell n started having stomach cramps, followed by never ending throwing ups. Guess it must be severe indigestion. My whole body went into spasm when my stomach refused to stop aching. Lucky mum was there when that happened n she called for the ambulance. Haha, how dramatic, I never felt so weak in my entire life. While mum was so worried, dad only knew how to scold me, until the ambulance came then he got cold feet. That's the trademark of him. That incident practically put me off mooncakes till this year. Haha, and i really ate lots of it this year, especially my favourite snow skin types. MQ bought this delicious yam mooncakes for me too, which are so hard to resist. We spent the day together as she went to NUH to have her teeth braces done before crashing my Biology lecture. Went over to her house at night for more mooncakes n fire playing. Haha, never would I expect to be playing candles n fire with my girlfriend. The past week had been busy as usual. I had my Maths midterm test on Monday, rushed through my programming lab exercises on Tues n Wed, Thurs is the longest day in school from 9am-5pm. Heh, n Parco finally recovered from his slight Bronchitis after a visit to KKH. Specialists are blood suckers, with each visit costing well over S$100 n yet not curing him. Government hospital KKH only charged him S$60+ n got him well pretty quickly. See, Specialists are not really that SPECIAL after all. N ya, the air hasn't been the best of quality lately. Crappy country Indonesia is having numerous burning hotspots in Sumatra AGAIN n the choking haze has AGAIN arrived on our sunny island, blocking out the beautiful blue skies n deprieving us of clean n fresh breathing air. Many people had fell sick too due to the polluted air. It even blocked out the full moon last night. I hate this shit. Lucky most of my time was spent in school in air-conditioned environment. Now that I'm typing, the Pollutant Standard Index(PSI) is a high 130, which is an unhealthy level. Crap, it's impossible to even go for a jog now. I hope the air gets cleared up soon n I can see my blue sky again.. Little Parco finally recovers after a visit to KKH Went over to Daniel's hostel to bunk in for one night on Monday due to my Maths test. Haha, i caught him slacking! PLaying Football Manager somemore.. The room Eh, dun act hardworking lar.. His bed, littered with my stuff Postcard from his "angel" Another gift Cups n a dog plate Toiletries..
