Last Ever Duty

I was back in camp ystd for my last ever regimental duty as a soldier. In the 2 months that I wasn't in camp, a lot of changes were made so much so that I don't even know where to retrieve the documents I need in the office. My sergeant was like quite surprised that I'm so lost cos I'm a much more seasoned soldier than him. I ended up asking everyone where to get this, where to get that.

The duty was bored. I spent the day reading newspapers, making a lot of office calls n day dreaming. There was no TV to watch n I slept pretty early in the comfort of the air-con at around 10pm. Yeah, u might think I've had lots of sleep, but u're wrong. I had to wake up at 4.45am to have my breakfast. So that's roughly only 7hrs of sleep. Enough by SAF standard, but not enough for me.

I missed the Champions League action last night. Arsenal created a huge upset by beating Real Madrid 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabau while my beloved Liverpool lost to Benfica FC of Portugal 1-0 through a late late goal. Argh, Liverpool better play well during the return leg at Anfield 2 weeks later. As for Arsenal, well done Gunners. I want to see the "Galacticos" get booted out of this competition.

I read the papers today, n I saw two interesting articles, one of them is about the Nanyang Polytechnic sex video. I'll go to that later on. The other article was the recent rise in eye fungal infections among contact lens users. Apparently, almost all struck by the disease used Bausch & Lomb's ReNu contacts solution to clean their contacts. All contacts products by B&L has since been removed from the shelves while investigations were being carried out. It's a scary matter as fungal infection is unlike bacteria infection. Fungal infection causes permanent damage to the cornea n may even result in blindness unless an immediate cornea transplant is carried out. I know about this since last week but it's only now then the report came out in the papers. I've told her about it, n I hope she'll change her contacts solution. I still care a lot for her though...

Luckily I'm not a contacts wearer. Hmm, I still prefer the old trusty spectacles.

Ok, back to the Nanyang Polytechnic(NYP) sex video scandal. The NYP girl, who had her private sex video with her boyfriend circulated on the internet, is now undergoing counseling in her school n will continue her studies. Sadly to say, this girl is only 17yrs old n her reputation is as good as, or worse than, garbage. I wonder how is she going to face everyone in her school, n maybe on the streets if she's being recognized.

I've watched the video, n I think it's utterly stupid to take down your own sex video on the handphone n not delete it. The 10min video is now spreading in the cyberworld like wildfire n she's fast becoming Singapore's famous *orn star. It is believed that she had lost her phone n that particular thief extracted the video n distributed it on the net, that was how she got famous.

Also in the article, a discipline master from a local junior college even commented that he had seen a lot more in students' handphones while he confiscated some. Some students have porn in their phones while the others have naked or semi-naked pictures of their girlfriends. Surprisingly, some of the girls don't mind n even think it's artistic, preferring to enjoy the newfound popularity rather than worry about shamefulness. Worse still, some boyfriends even show off the pictures to their friends.

I think there's seriously something wrong with the mindset of these people. There are things that are meant to remain private. C'mon, what do u treat your girlfriend as when u show off her naked pictures to your friends? Is she your trophy? I'm utterly disgusted when I read this. I'm sorry but I have to say, What the fuck are these people thinking? I think they've gone bonkers.
