Thursday, May 15, 2008 Clana "Clana" refers to the neverending love twist surrounding Clark & Lana in the US drama "Smallville" I was watching this particular episode of it this afternoon, n a conversation between the two of them caught my ears. The conversation occurred when Clark went to find Lana for help in locating someone with special abilities who's helping Lex Luthor. All these happened after the Phantom, someone looking exactly like Clark n having his exact powers but is evil, had lived with Lana for a month impersonating the real Clark after he was trapped at the fortress as punishment from his Kryptonian dad. The Phantom eventually got destroyed when Clark came back after his father released him. All these while, Lana wasn't aware of she's sleeping with the enemy until the real Clark Kent came back. ===================================================================== Lana: Clark... When you were gone, I was treating this woman. She was catatonic after Brainiac infected her. Clark: What do you mean, "treating"? Lana: Monitoring her. Until she passed away. Clark: She passed away? Lana: Her mind was already gone. We were just looking for clues. Clark: Who's "we"? (pause) You told the phantom this?? (irritated) Lana, why do you bother telling me now? Lana: 'Cause Lionel's (Luthor) holding it over my head. Clark: I can't do this, Lana. You're only honest with me when you're threatened. In a few weeks with him..... Lana: I don't know what else to say to you. I thought that he was you! Clark: You're supposed to know me better than anyone!! Lana: And that's why you're here with me right now. Clark: But it was easier with him, wasn't it? Lana: Yes.... It was easier, Clark. He was more affectionate. He was more understanding. Is that really what you want to hear? I can't even look at you without you taking it the wrong way. Clark: Because you're looking at me like you wished I was someone else! Lana: Every transgression that I have made, you have answered with a hypocritical judgment. No one can live up to your self-righteous standards. Do you have any idea how it feels to wake up every morning, knowing that you're going fail in the eyes of the only person you've ever really loved? Clark: And you're the one who fell in love with Lex... and then fell for that killer (phantom). I don't think it's me you can't face. ===================================================================== Somehow, I find this conversation familiar. Trust is of utmost importance in a relationship. If that is gone, nothing can continue. the conversation is at 13min 10sec |
