Friday, December 28, 2007 Conquer Faber Phew.. I had a fairly tiring night last night, all thanks to night cycling!! Come to think of it, the last time I had a real night cycling was when I'm 18. Then, I went with Zheng Rong, Daniel n Poh Siang. I even haf the pictures of that day with me now. Haha, we all changed so much.. But last night was a little different. I went with Poh Siang, Su Feng n Bernice. According to Poh, he planned this ONE YEAR ago. Heh, actually, the idea of night cycling was around for dunno how many donkey years, juz that it's hard to find everyone free for the same night. N finally, eventhough we weren't at full strength last night, we went for it. N what a night it was... Poh.. ECP was our meeting point.. Bikes Poh fixing something while Feng n Ber looked on We cycled the whole length of ECP, went into Tanjong Rhu n climbed up the Sheares Bridge 70km/h sign & us My camera's flashing light actually slowed some drivers down!! The two strong girls who carried their bikes up the bridge Traffic On top of the road to the Marina Golf Course Oh no, since when we had TWO Singapore Flyer? Ah, this is better A nearer view The bright golf course Buildings at the Marina City area -- The monkeys More monkeys We got off the bridge and arrived at Esplanade to take more pics -- The Esplanade Swissotel Blue balls outside Esplanade -- Guess who's who Blue balls at Marina Bay CBD at night Bernice used me as her tripod Done?? The blue lights shining at the balls Blue Blue Blue We went across the Esplanade Bridge n the balls turned purple! 5star Fullerton Hotel The bridge Saw this "dunno wad thing" at Raffles places as we cycled down Shenton Way Our first resting point near Lau Pat Sat. The hungry monkeys eating stuffs from 7-11 Lightings at Shenton Way They were eating while i played with Bernice thousand dollar bike oo.... After our break, we proceed to Mt. Faber.. It was one hell of a ride up the steep slopes Christmas is over... FINALLY, WE REACHED THE SUMMIT... Bernice n Poh Siang Me with the monkeys This is Red Hill area This is Keppel Bay.. The orange lights belong to offshore island Pulau Bukom Our National Symbol The four tired n sleepy monkeys wad's Su Feng doing? We came down Mt. Faber n took a break at Esso After this stop, we were all too tired to carry on further west.. In the end, we U-turned n went to Tong Bahru n saw some "high class prostitutes" near Furama Hotel as mentioned by Bernice. N we cycled further south to Zion Road then to Clarke Quay, where Bernice gave up n asked her bf to picked her up at Ministry of Sound.. Hahahaha... So is that considered night cycling by putting the bike in the car n drive home??? So the three of us continued heading back to the east through City Hall-Beach Road-Nicoll Highway-Kallang then to Geylang!! Stopped over at Lor 27 to grab a bite Fancy some dim sum at 4am?? We were famished, n our eye lids droopy We slacked at the coffeeshop for an hour or so b4 making our last stretch of journey home. Su Feng parted us as Kembangan n Poh left me at Bedok. I clocked the the highest mileage of the night cos I lived the furthest from the West. It was quite a fun night, people who haven tried should do it too.. But please be prepared to suffer from massive muscle aches for the next few days.. |
