The Match

In less than 10hours' time, Liverpool will play their biggest match of the season in the 2nd-leg UEFA Champions League Semi-finals against Chelsea. Having lost 1-0 to the Blues in the 1st-leg at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool will have to score at least 2 goals and keep a clean sheet in order to advance to the Final. It's not an easy task certainly to score 2 goals against Chelsea, but we did it in January when we won 2-0 against them in the premier league. Liverpool is enjoying some luck in the absence of Calvalho, Ballack and Shevchenko due to various injuries. But knowing willy fox Jose Mourinho, u'll have to see the teamsheet of Chelsea before the start of the match to believe his words.

This match may determine the successfulness of Liverpool season after being eliminated in the early rounds of the League & FA Cups. The lack of consistency in the premier league had also damaged Liverpool's title aspirations this season, thus leaving the Champions League as their only hope of a trophy.

Liverpool won the Champions League for the 5th time in its history 2 years ago in a pulsating final match against AC Milan in Istanbul. This time it'll be at Athens, up against the winner of another semi-final match between AC Milan & Manchester United. Anyone anticipating a replay of the finals 2 years ago? I would definitely love that. AC Milan VS Liverpool 2007, what a spectacular match up.
