Tuesday, June 21, 2005 Monday blues, book in early morning for duty.. The whole camp looked dead. The trainee Bravo company went SAFTI for SAF Day rehearsal, leaving less than 100 people in the whole battalion. Yesterday was a freaking sunny day, lucky i was stuck inside the air-conditioned office, answering calls. Much more relaxing than the tough guard duty, but it was boring to sit through whole day. So bored that i read The Sunday Times, The Straits Times twice n 2 issues of BusinessWeek. It was only till night then there's something to watch on tv. Before that, i watched the news on CNA so many times, i can be the news presenter without reading from the scripts. The news world was quite happening ystd tho.. Oil prices rose to US$59 per barrel, a record high. Sheesh, it better drop fast, or else inflation will set in again in S'pore. A virus attacked the credit card company(MasterCard n Visa), leaving its users' information being leaked out, S'pore was affected too, hope my info wasn't leaked out. The gruesome body parts case goes on, with the police still searching for the missing severed legs. Lucky it happened now as i used to canoe along that river during my JC days. I bet i won't dare go down to row if it happened then. In sports, Michael Schumacher finally won his first grand prix of the season, but in the weirdest fashion. Tyre problems caused 7 teams to retire, leaving only 3 teams(Ferrari, Minardi n Jordon) starting on the grid. Fans were furious. Well, it's understandable. If i was to pay to watch the F1 race at Sepang in KL, i would expect to get my money's worth. When u only see 6 cars out of the total 20 competing on the track, u'll feel cheated. No matter what, Schumi still won, my german race idol won at last. The captain of my favourite Liverpool FC, Steven Gerrard, is still in the transfer speculations. He better not go Real Madrid, the team is too unstable. Mexico won Brazil, Japan defeated Greece, shockers. I never read so much in a day after graduating from JC. When it was time to sleep, my mind was still so active, i could hardly fall asleep, leaving me with only a meagre 5 hour sleep. Rained early in the morning today at Seletar, it was freezing when i woke up at 5am. Book out for day off, but gotta be back again tonight. 21st June, the Initial D cast will be in the city at Lido. Too bad i can't make it, or i would have gone there to check things out. So much hype, the critics have been mainly on the acting skills of Jay(Takumi Fujiwara). Well, it remains to be seen whether he's got the acting cells in him. I'll be more interested in the cars anyway. 2km mask run tomorrow, my week kicks start again... |
