Wednesday, December 21, 2005 Had a very weird dream last night in camp. I dreamt that I was driving a red Subaru WRX STi. It felt so cool n real in my dream. When changing gears, I could hear the turbo “hissing sound”. The handling was smooth n the car has an amazing ability in picking up speed quickly. Does the real car feel like that too? I’ll have to work very hard if I want to get one. It costs S$100k in I think today effectively marks one of my last days in Seletar Camp. I dunno how long will my MC be after my knee surgery tmr. Shot my last bullet as a NSF ystd night. The rifle I took treated me well, giving me good shots, but too bad my whole section didn’t do well enough as one team to clinch marksmanship. I kinda feel bad now cos I didn’t clean the rifle that I used. It was too late last night when we got back to camp, so the officer allowed us to clean it today. Ha, but I’m now at home clearing my leave, leaving the M16 rifle still filled with black carbon from the gunpowder. Had CO parade this morning. This may be my last parade. CO spoke about what future challenges 39SCE is going to face n the massive changes that’s going to take place in the CBRE Defence Group. 2006 is sure going to be an even busier yr for my unit. Good luck to those newer soldiers, I can safely say I won’t be affected in anyway. Cleared most of the stuff in my cupboard. It really felt like I’m going to ORD very soon. News is out that we gonna de-kit on 24th Feb 06. Ok, maybe this will be the next date that I go back to camp. When I was about to leave, my platoon mates all looked at me with envy. Yeah, they only see the good side—being free from army regiments, but neglected the bad side—having to go for surgery n risk any implications plus the pain after surgery. If I can choose, I rather ORD as a fully fit soldier instead of a PES “C” soldier. Haha, Samuel kept bugging me this whole week. Yup, I gonna miss my friends in there. No more horseplay for me. That’s the best part of army, we play like little brothers. Don’t get me wrong, I still hate Seletar Camp. If not for this shit-hole, things between me n her wouldn’t have turned out his ugly. I’ll miss my company mates, my Platoon Sergeant Thiaga n the ever so funny bunch of medics. I would like to thank them for taking care of me whenever I fall sick in camp. Thank you guys… =) |
