Today is 6th of August 2005. 60 yrs ago today, the most powerful weapon ever known to man was used. The United States dropped an atomic bomb onto Hiroshima of Japan, killing 140 000 people instantly n thereafter. It's sad this had to be done. True, people wondered whether the move was justified. For me, the US definitely did the right thing. They sacrificed the lives of a mere 140k people to save millions from suffering n dying in different parts of the world. 3 days later on 9th August 1945, the US dropped another one on Nagasaki. It was then that made Japan give up, surrendering unconditionally on August 15 1945, ending WWII. For all the war crimes Japan had committed, they fully deserved that. However, they never admit their mistakes. The recent riots in China, Taiwan n S.Korea about the controversial school history textbook in Japan clearly showed that Japan has no guts to face their deeds of the past. That is why i respect Germany more than Japan, eventho they were both the monsters of WWII.

Some interesting facts. Do you know that the pilot of the plane that dropped the bomb thought that the bomb was a dud when it took longer than expected to explode? Previous trail runs showed that it would explode in 43 seconds but it didn't when he counted the time. Haha, u can't blame him for that cos the bomb was juz invented days before it was used. Nobody actually knew its limits. Another fact: Do you know the bomb never hit the ground? It didn't explode due to impact. The bomb was detonated the moment it left the plane. It was the mechanism reaction inside the bomb that took 43 seconds to make the bomb explode. 43 seconds wasn't the time taken for it to hit ground. The atomic bomb finally exploded about 50m above the ground of Hiroshima at 8.15am. Children going to schools n adults going to work, everyone within 2km of ground zero simply stood no chance. Radiation n severe burns killed many too after the actual day. Oh well, i pray that we will never ever need to use this devastating weapon again..

I'm sun burnt. My skin is red, all thanks to this morning's kayaking training. The feeling of rowing on the water is so good, i really missed it. The scenery n peace in MacRitchie reservoir is so relaxing. I love that place. No more coast guards, no more power boats n no more dragon boats. The whole damn reservoir belongs to us. It's so big that i can't see the other end of the reservoir. It's an incredible place..

I was shack out when i got home, slept the rest of the day, only waking up at 9pm to have dinner.. I have this feeling that my weekend is super long this week. It was only then i realised i only worked for 1.5 days this week.. Haha, if life can be like that every week, wouldn't it be perfect? I'm talking rubbish again...
