Thursday, August 11, 2005 Aw, lazy day. My sweet sleep was once again being ended prematurely due to a phone call. Who? My mum la. The usual stuff, she wanted me to help her bring up all the stuff she had bought from the market. Oh well, i used to hate this. But being older has made me wiser n noe how to treasure people around me. She's suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. An illness that condemns her to painful joints. I should be shot in the head for allowing her to buy so many heavy weighing stuff from the market. What has my mum done to deserve all this pains? Hai.. Sometimes, I wish I could just do everything for her, n she can go for her mahjong sessions everyday. Be a ‘tai tai’ rather than a housewife. Too bad, I wasn’t posted to OCS (officer cadet school), or I would have signed on n start earning good money, no need for my mum to work n take care of the family both at the same time. Feeling better liao, the flu medicine did wonders. For some reason, I dunno why am I so vulnerable to bouts of flu. Lack of Vitamin C? Impossible leh, I every fruits everyday without fail. A call from camp came in the morning. They want Tampines Polyclinic’s number. Sheesh, what were they thinking? They suspect that I’m FAKING ill? Screw them la. That’s the problem with SAF. They never believe u’re sick unless u collapse, n maybe die. My platoon is the standby force again, for the next 2 weeks. Checking of equipment every morning again for the next 10 days. I wonder how’s my favourite little fogging machine doing. I’m the fogger of the whole mitigation process. Seen banglah workers fogging your neighbourhood to kill the mosquitoes? Yes, that’s what I do. In fact, I do the same thing as those banglahs, juz that I’m in a chemical suit n I’m exposed to highly fatal chemicals instead of mosquitoes. Spent the noon surfing. I won two of the items I bided in ebay. They’re both Casio watches. I’m so dead, only got my pay yesterday n I had already spent close to 200 bucks on them. My mum will kill me if she knows that. But the deals were too good to be missed. The 2 brand new Casio watches usually cost over 200bucks combined. I can’t wait for them to arrive from the Other than ebay, I chanced upon an old friend’s blog. She started blogging since December 2003 n I read all her entries from day one to today, all at one shot. Glad that she’s living well. I took a total of 2+ hrs, blasting my speakers while reading. Poor neighbours, but do I seem to care? Not a bit. Heh, booking in later. Friday tmr, last working day of the week, n we gonna have half day off after the grueling 15km cross-island run. I’m excused cos I’ve juz recovered from an illness. Hmm, I shall leave my phone back home today. Wanna have the old feeling of ‘nobody can know where I am’ after having a mobile for 3 yrs. Need a short break from technology… |
